Chuck Beasley

Chuck Beasley remembers his first jazz gig. He was only 15, but had already been tapped as a clarinetist and saxophonist to keep an eye on. That was nearly 70 years ago. Beasley just turned 84, but he still practices and performs with his own big band weekly, with gigs the first Tuesday of the month at O’Gara’s Garage and on the third Thursday of the month at the Wabasha Street Caves. 3-Minute Egg met and heard the local jazz legend Tuesday at O’Gara’s.
