Ida Arbeit danced for Helen Tamiris‘ company in the 1930s — Tamiris was one of the founding women of modern dance. Arbeit left her company and the dance floor to raise a family, but she never lost her artistic sparkle. New to Minnesota since her son moved her here from New York, Arbeit has worked with Kairos Dance Theater to rekindle Tamiris’ work and create some new steps of her own. 3-Minute Egg watched that collaboration touch down at the monthly 9×22 showcase at Bryant-Lake Bowl. The Egg also meets another New York-to-Minnesota newcomer, Stephanie Blackmon Woodbeck.
