  1. So glad to see teen spoken word and poetry slams are getting some attention. I am always seriously amazed by the level of talent and expression in these young people.

If teens are looking for other spoken word opportunities, Caponi Art Park in Eagan is holding their 6th annual “Poets in the Park” teen poetry slam on Saturday, May 9 at 2pm w/ $150 in cash prizes. It’s emceed by spoken word artist Cynthia French, Michael Mlekoday will perform some poems, and hip-hop dance students from Apple Valley High School will also be performing. We are also presenting a Spoken Word Master Class with Chicago artist Tristan Silverman on April 21. Details are at http://www.caponiartpark.org/poetsinthepark.

    Cheers, Heather
