Jeff Redman of Workhouse Theatre used the 1999 Fringe Festival to stage his adaptation of a story from the comic book series Beautiful Stories for Ugly Children. A decade in the passing only fueled Redman’s desire to dig deeper. Workhouse is partnering with Hardcover Theater, a local company specializing in adaptations of literary works, to co-produce three stories from the series — opening tonight and running through March 21 in Workhouse’s converted auto garage in North Minneapolis. 3-Minute Egg takes you there for a recent rehearsal.
