Nicole Helget grew up on a farm in Sleepy Eye, Minn., a childhood and place she drew on for her memoir, The Summer of Ordinary Ways. She then turned to fiction with her debut novel, The Turtle Catcher. NPRs Scott Simon awarded the novel the Tamarack Prize from Minnesota Monthly based on its first chapter. 3-Minute Egg met Helget at a reading at Magers & Quinn.
