3-Minute Egg is taking next week off and finishing out our year Dec. 28-Jan. 1 by running our five most-viewed videos of 2009. Will you or an artist you know make the most-popular list?

And what a 2009 it was! 3-Minute Egg became a weekly program on the Minnesota Channel of Twin Cities Public Television and earned grants from the Metropolitan Regional Arts Council and Rimon: The Jewish Arts Council. To date, the Egg has produced 252 videos that have been viewed more than 50,000 times — all profiling local artists and arts happenings across the spectrum of performing, visual and literary arts. All our videos are archived and fully searchable at 3minuteegg.org, and you can embed them for free into your your own Web sites.

We have big plans for 2010, including becoming our own nonprofit company (to date, we’ve operated with IFP-MN as our wonderful fiscal agent) and launching a weekly online radio show allowing us to dig into issues and trends affecting Minnesota artists.

As you also close out your year, please consider making a donation to 3-Minute Egg — the donate button on the right side of this page takes you to our link at IFP-MN, where your donation is completely tax-deductible. With 3-Minute Egg, you know exactly where your donation goes — on screen, supporting the artists and organizations at the bedrock of the local arts community. We need and appreciate your support!

Have an EGGSellent New Year and beyond …
