ORIGINAL RUN DATE: May 26, 2009
Carl Flink was a dancer in Minneapolis and New York before he became a lawyer. He has since straddled both lines, in a sense, infusing the dances he makes with themes of social justice. Field Songs is the newest work he’s put on his Black Label Movement, which premiered at the Southern Theater. 3-Minute Egg dropped into the Barbara Barker Center to catch a rehearsal and speak with Flink, who now also chairs the dance and theater program at the University of Minnesota. Live music for this piece comes from the Jinnies.
